Total Hire and Sales have recently teamed up with a number of local businesses to help with the transportation and set up of the Knife Angel sculpture, as it arrived in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter.
The 27ft sculpture which is made up of 100,000 bladed weapons that have been seized or handed in to police surrender schemes across the country, is set for a month long stay in the city as part of its tour around the country.
Carl Tidey, Director of Total Hire and Sales said: “As a local company with a long-standing history in Derby, we are always pleased to help the local community where we can. When we heard about the Derby Knife Angel scheme, we were more than happy to get involved in such an important scheme.”
Carl went on to say: “Total Hire have teamed up with other local businesses to provide cranes and transportation to assist in getting the sculpture to Derby safely. It’s taken a lot of planning and preparation, but we’re so pleased that everything went smoothly, and the public can now view this fantastic piece of art and learn about the message it represents”.
The Knife Angel sculpture can be seen in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter until the end of October.
