What are your opening hours?

All of our depots are open from 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

What is the minimum hire period?

It depends on the item, but we have a range of flexible hire terms from starting from one day, one weekend or one week through to short, medium and long-term hire arrangements. 

Some items such as site accommodation and fencing have a minimum four week hire period. 

What is the maximum hire period?

It is up to you. Equipment hire can be up to 12 months or longer depending on the project and the item on hire. 

Does Total Hire and Sales do delivery?

Yes, we can offer local and nationwide delivery. 

Do you do same day delivery?

In the Midlands, if you call us by 11am we will try and deliver to you the same day. 

How do you arrange collection?

Call the Total Hire and Sales team on 0800 254 5993 or email us at enquiries@totalhireandsales.co.uk to book a collection when you have finished with your hired item. 

What is the cost of hiring tools and equipment?

Costs vary depending on the item for hire and the rental period.

Prices shown on line and in the product guide are excluding VAT, so are subject to VAT at the standard rate of 20%. Some items also have additional charges for wear, fuel or resharpening costs.

Is a deposit required?

For cash hire customers we take a deposit dependent on the equipment value. For Total Hire and Sales trade account customers a deposit is not required.

How do you open a trade account?

Our Total Hire and Sales trade account is simple to sign up to and you will receive a same day decision. Fill out our trade account form, for special deals for trade account holders and a member of our team will get in touch with you. 

What ID do I need when hiring equipment?

If you are a trade account holder, you will not need to bring any identification, just your account name, number and a purchase order number. 

If you are hiring tools and equipment without a trade account, you will need to provide three forms identification, two photo IDs and one with your current address. This could be a valid passport or current driving licence  and a recent utility bill. 

Do I need to clean items before returning them?

We request that you return the items in the condition in which they were hired to you.  

If excessive cleaning or repair is required, our team reserves the right to apply additional charges to cover costs incurred. 

Do you deliver nationwide?

Yes, our Total Hire and Sales team can deliver throughout the UK

How far in advance do I need to book?

We have a range of stock in our depots, so can usually be fairly flexible. However, we recommend booking as early as possible to secure the exact tools or equipment you need, particularly at peak seasons. 

What if I need to extend my hire?

What if I finish and want to bring it back early?

How much is delivery/collection?

We offer a full delivery and collection services. Cost of delivery is calculated based on location. 

Do you offer training with hire?

One of our friendly experts will provide a full demonstration with every tool or piece of equipment we hire. All equipment comes with full safety instruction documentation. 

Do you provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)?

Some of our equipment comes with specialist safety items. We recommend PPE should be used with all your hire equipment. All our depots stock a range of PPE if there is anything else you need, ask a member of the team.

Where is my nearest depot?

Can I return hire equipment to any Total Hire depot?

Yes, that’s no problem. If you collect your hire from one Total Hire depot but would prefer to drop off at another location when you return in, that’s OK, just let us know. To find your nearest Total Hire and Sales location, visit our Depots page.

What payment options are available?

Payment is required on hire of item. Payment methods accepted by debit and credit card, bank transfer BACS payment or invoiced through a trade account.

How do I make a complaint?

We hope that you will be totally satisfied with the service you receive from our team and the quality of the tools and equipment you hire from us. However, if there is something that you are not satisfied with and would like to make a complaint, please contact directors@totalhireandsales.co.uk with more information and your contact details. 

Do you sell tools and equipment?

Yes. If there is anything you are looking to purchase rather than hire, email us at enquiries@totalhireandsales.co.uk and we’ll come back to you with a purchase price.

Can you hire online?

At the moment we take orders for hire over the phone, via email, via Whatsapp or in person at one of our depots.
