Getting to know… Gary Pearce, Towing Driver
Gary Pearce, Towing Driver at Total Hire and Sales, is responsible for delivering and collecting equipment and ensuring everything runs smoothly. He talked to us about the variety of the job and why he enjoys being a Total team member.
Gary joined the Total Hire and Sales team two years ago and is based at the Derby Central depot. His role as a Towing Driver is a switch from his previous career as a taxi driver, but he is still responsible for delivering great customer service and ensuring everything runs on time.
His primary day-to-day duties include delivering and collecting items of plant and powered access machines and ensuring all deliveries go safely and smoothly. Meeting customers is an essential part of the job, but he loves getting out and about and building new relationships.
Gary likes the people that work for Total who share his hard-working mentality but still enjoy having a good laugh while on the job.
When he’s not at work, it’s all about football for Gary, either watching or playing – Up the Rams!
