Getting to know… Melanie Hart, Accounts Manager

Total Hire and Sales Melanie Hart

As Accounts Manager at Total Hire and Sales, Melanie Hart is responsible for keeping the firm’s finances in tip-top shape. She tells us more about her role in credit control and love of a colour-coded spreadsheet.

Melanie has been with Total Hire and Sales for 27 years and is based at the Victory Road depot. Before joining the team as Accounts Manager, she worked for a civil engineering company, taking care of the administration and bookkeeping. 

While her role is very varied, Melanie’s primary responsibility is the day-to-day running of the accounts department. This includes the prompt issue of customer invoices, ensuring suppliers are paid on time and working to various financial deadlines for the Directors. 

The challenge of setting and achieving targets is one of the most rewarding aspects of the job for Melanie, but she also enjoys problem-solving and is well-known for her love of a colour-coded spreadsheet!

The people she works with are a huge plus point, and having been with Total Hire and Sales for nearly three decades, she has also enjoyed contributing to the firm’s growth and sustainability.

Beyond the office, Melanie has a passion for all things two-wheeled, and she enjoys watching all motorbike racing, especially Moto GP and the World Superbike Championships.
