Getting to know…Carl Tidey, Managing Director
Carl Tidey, Managing Director at Total Hire and Sales, has been within the hire industry for over thirty four years – from YTS to MD.
Having joined the government’s Youth Training Scheme (YTS) as a trainee hire controller, Carl rapidly rose through the ranks of City Hire & Sales before following a similar trajectory at A Plant to Operational General Manager.
He came back home to Total Hire and Sales 17 years ago as General Manager and then Board Director and General Manager, before taking on the role of Managing Director in 2018.
During his time in the business, Carl has been part of the team that has brought huge growth and continued success within the Total Hire and Sales business.
In addition to enjoying the challenges that growing a business can bring, Carl likes the family atmosphere of the Total Hire and being part of a big community. He’s a team player with a strong customer focus and, despite being an all-round good guy, he can have a tendency for sarcasm, (which he assures us is the highest form of intelligence!).
