Total Hire and Sales Lends a Helping Hand to Hospice Superhero Walk

Total Hire and Sales was pleased to step in to support Ashgate Hospice’s Superhero Night Walk, which took place on Saturday 14th October. The family-friendly event aimed to raise essential funds towards end-of-life care while supporting the hospice’s vital work across North Derbyshire.

The sell-out event saw more than 1,100 children and adults don their favourite superhero costumes, including superhero cape and glow-in-the-dark mask, to tackle a 1 or 3-mile route around Queen’s Park in Chesterfield. Many were taking part in memory of family members and loved ones.

Total Hire and Sales provided several generators, lighting towers, portable lights and crowd barriers for free to support the event. Not only did the donation help to keep everyone safe on the night, but also saved the charity essential funds that could be redirected towards essential patient care.

Andy Hickingbottom, Director and General Manager at Total Hire and Sales, said: “We have always been a firm supporter of the charity’s work and were pleased that, once again, we were able to help them with this popular family event.

“We hope that all the mini superheroes who took part had a great time on the night while helping to raise vital funds for such a worthwhile cause, and we’re pleased to have played our small part.”

Alison Ward-Foster, Partnerships Manager at Ashgate Hospice, said: “These events are so important for helping to fund our critical work, and we are always so grateful for Total Hire and Sales’ support. The event has raised over £45,000 to date and we’ve had some really good feedback. The sponsorship income has smashed our target as well so a really successful event all round.

“Total Hire and Sales’ generous donation and those of our other corporate sponsors means more funds can be diverted to where they are needed most, supporting patients and their families with essential care. Thank you so much!”
